At last, science has answered the question that has plagued dog owners for centuries: what's up with all that crazy tail-wagging by dogs? This diagram shows in an easy to understand way the basic workings of this mysterious doggie behavior. Not only is the mechanical function explained, and the mysterious winding device revealed, but there is also a look at the various external stimuli that can activate the tail-wagging motion (or, as it is also sometimes known, "rear swinging") of man's best friend. Isn't science wonderful?

--Info on the printing process, plus care & feeding instructions--
This is a limited-edition print, each copy signed & numbered by the artist. It is created from a film negative made directly from the original pen and ink artwork, then retouched by the artist, and printed by offset lithography on Cougar-white paper stock. Mounting and matting materials are either low-acid or acid-free. To maintain the quality of this work, do not display it where it will be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods, or to extremes of temperature or humidity. I also recommend that you look at it once it is up on your wall (at least six times a week is considered the minimum), or else it will get sad and lonely, and the tear-stains will make it look less attractive.
